The whole acai berry thing is an overdone scam. Acai berry is a dark berry which may have some antioxidant properties, but is really not much different than a blueberry.
There are a number of companies selling acai berry products and they use resellers online to push the products. Because many acai products sold online charge a monthly membership fee (around $80 or so), many resellers are flocking to the program to make extra money. They usually get about half of that monthly fee one time up front, so you see a bunch of people pushing the acai products online.
